ViaWest launched an investment platform in 2009 to invest in publicly-traded real estate investment trusts (REITs) through the firm’s registered investment advisor (RIA) subsidiary, VWP Asset Management, LLC.
ViaWest has always closely followed the performance and activity of publicly-traded REITs, as they have proven to be a leading indicator of real estate pricing and capital activity. REITs are also an increasingly large owner of diversified real estate portfolios, and are thus an attractive and liquid way for investors to own institutional-quality real estate.
By covering private and public real estate markets, we are able to gain proprietary insight, leading to investment opportunities in both markets. Our top-down asset class selection and bottom-up valuation approach is applicable to public and private real estate investments. We believe a deep understanding of the relationship between the two is an increasingly important discipline for a professional real estate investment firm.
ViaWest manages investments for individual, institutional and other registered investment adviser (RIA) clients. This is done historically through both Fund Investments and Managed Accounts.
